Engineered Bookings — appointment booking for WordPress
Booking your team runs. Not another calendar to babysit.
A customer booking widget, an availability engine that respects staff hours, resources and external calendars, full prepayment through Stripe, and an operator dashboard that lives on the front end. Built for any appointment-driven business — car washes with bays, salons with stylists, tire shops with lifts, firms booking whoever is free. In active development; early access is open.
Two stylists, three bays, one lift — availability that matches the shop
Google and Microsoft 365 free/busy respected before a slot is offered
Full prepayment through Stripe Connect at the time of booking
Stored in UTC, computed in the shop’s zone, shown in the customer’s
What it actually does
Availability that matches the shop floor
Most booking plugins only book people. This one books resources too — the bay, the lift, the chair, the room — so a slot is only offered when the staff member AND the thing they need are both free. Buffers between jobs, blackout dates and group slots included.
Their real calendar, not a second one
Free/busy sync with Google Calendar and Microsoft 365. When someone blocks out a dentist appointment in their own calendar, that slot stops being bookable here — without anyone remembering to update two systems.
Money at the time of booking
Full prepayment through Stripe Connect. A customer who has paid shows up; a customer who clicked a free calendar link is a coin flip. Every stage gets an editable email, with reminders and a calendar attachment so it lands in their own calendar too.
A dashboard on the front end
Owners and staff work from a page on your own site — not wp-admin. Drop one shortcode for the customer widget and another for the dashboard, then theme the widget to the business from an appearance panel that won’t let you make it unreadable.
One plugin, one price
One licence, one production site, every feature, automatic updates and support. Cancel any time — and if a licence ever lapses you keep taking bookings and taking payment. Billing is never allowed to cost you an appointment.
📅 A booking form people finish
Location, service, staff, time, details, paid — and every question that does not apply is skipped rather than shown greyed out. Works on a phone, works with a keyboard alone, works with a screen reader, and scores 100/100 on Lighthouse accessibility.
🧠 Availability that understands the day
Per service: how long the work takes, buffers held before and after for cleaning down or travel, how many people fit in one slot, and how far apart start times are offered — anywhere from five minutes to four hours. Notice required and how far ahead people may book, set once or overridden per service.
🪑 Books people, or the thing they need
Some businesses run out of staff first, others run out of bays, rooms, lifts or chairs. Point a service at whichever is actually the constraint and the diary books that.
💳 Free, deposit, or paid in full
Set per service. A deposit can be a percentage or a fixed amount, the customer sees both numbers before booking, and you mark the balance settled when they pay at the counter. Straight into the business’s own Stripe account.
🗂️ Nobody has to see wp-admin
The diary, bookings, services, staff, locations, hours, time off, discount codes, emails and appearance are all pages on the business’s own site. The people running the business never learn what a WordPress dashboard is.
👥 Staff see their own diary
They sign in on your site, see what is assigned to them, and move, cancel or take a booking at the desk. They cannot open a colleague’s appointment, change a price, add a location, or see the takings.
🔄 Google and Microsoft calendars
Each staff member connects their own. Appointments land on their phone, and whatever is already in their calendar stops the site offering that time to anybody.
✉️ Every email, in your words
Confirmation, moved, cancelled, refunded, reminders, and the alert that tells you about a new booking. Calendar invitations attached, reminder timing yours to set, and the customer gets a link to cancel or move it themselves inside the cutoffs you choose.
🔒 Two people, one slot, one booking
The slot is claimed in the database rather than checked and hoped for. Proven with real competing processes firing at the same slot at once — because the double-booking you find out about is the one that costs you a customer.

Do my customers need an account?
No. They book without signing up, and the confirmation email carries a private link that lets them cancel or move the appointment themselves — inside whatever cutoffs you set. The code in the link is what proves it is them.
Can my staff manage bookings without WordPress access?
Yes. Staff sign in on a page of your own site and see the diary and the appointments assigned to them, which they can move, cancel, annotate or add to. They cannot reach a colleague’s bookings, change prices or services, issue refunds, or see revenue.
Can I take a deposit instead of the full price?
Per service: nothing, the full price, or a deposit as a percentage or a fixed amount. The customer sees what they are paying now and what is still owed, their confirmation says the same, and you mark the balance settled when they pay in person.
Can appointments start at odd times, like 12:35?
Yes. Each service sets its own spacing between offered start times, from five minutes up to four hours, so you can be as coarse as hourly or fine enough to land on almost any minute.
Whose Stripe account does the money go into?
The business’s own. It connects its Stripe account in the dashboard and charges land there directly — the money never passes through Engineered Leads and we take nothing out of it.
What happens if my licence lapses?
You keep taking bookings. The booking form, payments, confirmations, reminders and your diary all keep working on an unlicensed install — a billing problem is never allowed to cost a business an appointment. What stops is updates and the extras: calendar sync, resources, extra locations, theming, editable emails and discount codes.
What do I need to run it?
WordPress 6.4+ and PHP 8.1+. It works with any well-built theme, and if you would rather not set it up yourself, that is what the Setup plan is for.

Want booking wired into your whole funnel?
Bookings are only worth what the follow-up does with them. We build the ads, the agents and the CRM around them as one system — book a call and we’ll map it.
